At 1450 m, Saint Martin de Belleville has retained its authentic village atmosphere while becoming part of Les 3 Vallées, the largest skiing area in the world : 600 km of pistes, 200 ski lifts provide direct skiing access to Les Menuires and Val Thorens, also in the Vallée des Belleville, and to Méribel, Courchevel and la Tania in the neighbouring valleys. The presence of this new technology has not caused Saint Martin de Belleville to lose its traditional Savoy charm characterised by its narrow streets, its stone and wooden houses, beautiful baroque church, and its inhabitants skilled in making the "Tomme" and "Sérac de chèvre" cheeses.
